SE 5 - The Gift Of Awareness

Bobby Haaby

Overview:

Encounters with God don’t end when the moment passes—they are meant to spark ongoing awareness of His presence in our everyday lives. In this lesson, you’ll learn how encounters awaken your spirit, open your eyes to the nearness of God, and empower you to walk in spiritual authority. Bobby shares how stewarding these moments and meditating on God’s Word creates an atmosphere where heaven breaks in, even in seasons of opposition. You’ll discover how the blood of Jesus covers, protects, and positions you—not just for defense, but for breakthrough. Let’s learn how to partner with the Spirit, steward our encounters, and step into all that God has for us.

“Encounters are meant to cause our spirit man to come alive… They draw us to an awareness of the presence of God. That’s their role.”

—Bobby Haaby

Core Takeaways:

Encounters with God increase our awareness of His presence, both during and after the moment.

Focusing on what God is doing activates heaven’s atmosphere around us—what we meditate on grows.

Every encounter should be lived out; revelation becomes transformation when it’s walked out in real life.

The blood of Jesus covers and protects us, giving us bold access to God, especially in times of challenge.

We are called to revisit and meditate on our God-encounters, letting Him build on what He’s already revealed, not just chasing new experiences.

Interpret pictures/visions through Scripture.

Awareness increases as you testify and obey.

Key Scriptures:

John 6:63 — “My words are spirit and they give life.”

Proverbs 25:2 — “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.”

Hebrews 10:19–22 — “By a new and living way we have access… to the throne of grace.”

Joshua 2:17–21 — The scarlet cord in Rahab’s window as a sign of protection.

Revelation 12:11 — “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”

Questions To Consider:

What atmosphere do your words create at home?

Where do you need to switch from defense to assignment?

Activation:

Set aside 10 minutes to Identify one fear.

Declare Hebrews 10:19–22 over it.

Ask: “Lord, what assignment sits behind this resistance?”

Write one obedient action.

Pray the blood of Jesus over your life and step into this new day with boldness.

Journal Prompt:

When did awareness of God’s presence change a hard situation? Capture the shift. What steps will you take to steward that encounter so it bears lasting fruit, not just for you but for those around you?

Remember:

God’s presence is available 24/7. Your encounters are invitations to live with a thin veil between heaven and earth—covered by the blood, empowered by the Spirit, and always ready for breakthrough.
