Ls6 - Divine Protection

Hey, welcome back for this final session! We are wrapping things up by talking about something near and dear to my heart: divine protection on steroids. If you or someone you love needs to be reminded that God has your number and is fiercely watching over your life, you cannot miss this module.

I’m going to share some intense, personal stories that show just how far God will go to protect who He chooses to protect. First, I'll take you back to 1959 when my family was so poor that neighbors reused bleach bottles for ice water. On a scorching California day, I accidentally took three huge glugs of pure Clorox bleach. Now, if you look up the side effects of drinking bleach, it’s death. My grand total of medical treatment back then was a piece of bubble gum, and yet here I am talking to you today!

Then, I'll tell you about a terrifying accident when I was six years old, riding in a VW van converted into a school bus. A car ran a red light, slammed into us, and that van went flipping over and over twice before skidding on its roof. I literally sat there thinking, "This must be what it feels like to die." The driver was hospitalized for weeks, but I walked away completely unscathed. Years later, I found out my future wife, Doreen, was in a similarly devastating head-on collision on the East Coast as a child that tragically killed her parents, yet she was left without a single scratch. God used that exact tragic turn of events to have her adopted by an aunt and uncle who raised her, didn't spoil her, and ultimately introduced her to me—and now we've been happily married for 43 years!

God weaves our lives together through the most unpredictable, heartbreaking, and miraculous circumstances to make everything turn out exactly the way He intended.
