Ls5 - Stumbling into the Will of God
Hey, welcome back! Today, in this fifth episode, we are talking about something I love to call stumbling into the will of God. To be completely honest with you, I stumble into the will of God way more than I obey—I do try to obey, but I find myself in these incredible places without even realizing I was following a plan. If you feel like you are just blundering along trying to figure out your future, you absolutely have to watch this module.
I’m going to share two mind-blowing stories about how God orchestrates our steps when we aren't even looking:
- The Launch of the Elijah List:
Back in 1997, my business was closing down, and I was just messing around on the brand-new World Wide Web. I saw people sending out these angry emails claiming to be prophetic, and I thought, "That doesn't have the feel of God on it." So, just for the fun of it, I started a little email list for 30 local friends. I never, ever intended to have a ministry, but I stumbled into it! Today, we've seen that list grow to hundreds of thousands of subscribers over 25 years.
- Buying Back the Farm:
When we needed a place to rent for my daughter's horse, we put a tiny ad in the paper and got exactly one response—a beautiful 20-acre farm we could barely afford. Years later, a prophet called me out at a conference and told me a fourth-generation inheritance was coming from my mother's side. When we finally sat down to buy that property, the owner told me the prominent historical family that originally financed the farm was none other than my mother's relatives, the Chases! I was literally buying back a farm financed by my own ancestors four generations back, in a state where none of my living family even resided.
You see, God has a ton of fun when he does this, and he wants you to have fun too. You could never create or fake these kinds of setups on your own.
